I am graduating in 18 days. Usually I feel okay about this, and by “okay” I mean I just don’t think about the future right now, and by “the future” I mean anything further away than dinner. Usually I’m fine, but a few days ago I had a mini nervous breakdown in the Environmental Studies Library, where I had to go to do research for a paper. I had never been in there before, and it was all beautiful and shiny and filled with vast amounts of resources and I started freaking out about how this was the first time I had been there and that I probably would never be back and how there were so many other libraries at Berkeley I had never been in and books I hadn’t bothered to check out and classes I was too lazy to take and so on and so on.
But there’s really no use in thinking that way. I’d rather focus on the places that do mean a lot to me, that I got to take advantage of while I was here. So I decided to make a list of 18 places I will miss that are (almost all) directly related to the University (i.e., Gregoire will not be included). I’ll post an entry about one every day before I graduate. If you think this is really sappy, fuck you, I’m feeling nostalgic.
#18 will go up tomorrow (ahem, later today), since it is late and I am determined to make it to my first class tomorrow, something I’ve been having issues with lately.
